Wheeler’s Autism Diagnostic Evaluation Program (ADEP) is now available at our convenient locations at 91 Northwest Drive, Plainville and 20 Tuttle Place, Middletown for HUSKY A, C, or D Medicaid-enrolled families.

Wheeler has extensive experience assessing the needs of children and young adults who demonstrate symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder. We have developed a multidisciplinary autism spectrum diagnostic evaluation and assessment program, specifically designed for children ages 3 and older. Our multidisciplinary team approach involves a thorough, direct assessment of the child as well as gathering of information from the parents/guardians and (with their permission) from collateral sources such as the school, daycare, and primary care physician.

Many other Wheeler programs regularly assess and work with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including:
**The Diagnostic Assessment and Referral Team (DART) – a comprehensive, integrated, multidisciplinary evaluation program for children aged three to twenty with behavioral, cognitive, social, emotional and/or educational difficulties. Each evaluation is customized and provides a comprehensive overview of the child.
**Northwest Village School, a private special education school for students from kindergarten through grade 12+. The school uses a transdisciplinary, trauma-informed, therapeutic-education model to provide educational services to children with a variety of learning, behavioral, social-emotional, developmental, and cognitive challenges. In addition to special education instruction, services at Northwest Village School can include: psychiatric treatment, psychological testing, functional behavioral assessment, speech and language assessment, occupational therapy assessment, achievement testing, individual, group and family therapies, speech and language therapy, and occupational therapy.
