An inclusive, independent institution with a waterfront campus in historic New London,
Connecticut, Mitchell College believes in harnessing the power of transformation and

with a focus on neuroequity. Over more than 85 years, Mitchell has developed the Mitchell
Ability Model, a distinct approach to education blending a tradition of mentoring with expertise in

challenged, supported, and equipped for self-defined success. The college provides a learning
continuum that includes the following specialized programs:
- Thames at Mitchell College: A post high-school program for those who are neurodivergent, have diagnosed learning challenges, or want to build independence and self confidence
- SAILS Program: A program teaching self-advocacy and interpersonal life skills
- Bentsen Learning Center: A resource providing academic support for Mitchell students with learning challenges
- STAIRs Program: A living-learning post-college transition program
- Mitchell Hub: An online platform for professional skills training and credentialing
The college also is home to championship NCAA Division III athletics as part of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).
