Institute of Living – Hartford Hospital / Robert A. Sahl, MD

The Autism service at the Institute of Living (IOL) offers a comprehensive evaluation and continuing treatment to individuals of all ages – child through adult – who are diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This entity builds on the current experience and expertise at the IOL and provides services including: diagnostic evaluation, psychiatric and pharmacologic management, case management, and advocacy work.

The service is looking to provide additional services in the form of individual, group, and family therapies focused on social-emotional skills and behaviors, behavioral therapy, school consultation, and vocational services. Integral to our service is the expansion of current ASD research – currently being done at the Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center – into clinical studies designed to develop innovative pharmacological and behavioral treatments, guided by underlying neural mechanisms, that will improve the lives of our patients.

For questions about the service please contact Robert Sahl, MD at 860-545-7647
