A driver’s license means so much more than being able to drive. It represents freedom, independence and is a sign of adulthood. For people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, driving may seem out of reach.
We are excited to introduce you to our program that helps someone with ASD go through all of the steps to safely drive on their own. Each process is personalized. If you’ve met one person with Autism, you’ve met one person with Autism. We work to understand your individual fears, anxieties, triggers and then build a customized approach to help you get your driver’s license.
Our Driving With ASD team includes highly trained occupational therapists, specially certified driving instructors and Autism Transitions Consultants that are program alumni that are now safely driving with ASD. This program is in the states of Connecticut and some schools are opening up in Massachusetts and Rhode Island later on in 2021.
