The Light House

With a mission to educate and prepare individuals with disabilities for life, The Lighthouse Voc-Ed Center (The Light House) is a nonprofit that serves the needs of individuals with disabilities throughout Eastern Connecticut and Southern Rhode Island. Divided into three “campuses”, The Light House has a broad range of programming including two state-approved private schools, residential and transitional services, employment supports and state contracted adult services. The Community Campus provides structured community based experiences for adults (18+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The Learning Campus is a state-approved special education school addressing the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of students ages 5 to 22 with significant intellectual and developmental differences.

The Life Campus provides community-based programming tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with autism. Programming aims to assist individuals in building upon and further developing the skills necessary for independence, focusing specifically on Employment, Education, Social/Personal, Community and Independent Living. Residential programming and life coaching options are available for those 21+ as well.
