Online “Open” Autism and the IEP – A Workshop for Parents of Children/Teens/Young Adults (through age 22)

DESCRIPTION: Join the Asperger/Autism Network (AANE) for a workshop with Q&A for parents and guardians on the ins and outs of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for autistic students. Learn what our staff look for when conducting IEP reviews. Topics include:
- Autism-specific considerations for the parent input statement
- Evaluations
- Accommodations
- SMART goals
- The service delivery grid
- Post-secondary transition planning
Please note: This workshop is NOT state specific
AUDIENCE: This webinar is intended for parents of children, teens, and young adults who are attending K-12 schools. Teens 14 years and older who are interested in participating in the IEP/504 transition process may also attend. Other adult family members, educators, and professionals who work with autistic individuals may also benefit from this workshop.

COST: $25 per person (AANE offers discounted admissions using the buttons below)
REGISTRATION: Advanced registration is required. After you have registered, a confirmation email is sent with a link to attend the program. Registrants who do not receive the confirmation email should check their email spam folder. Registration closes 24 hours prior to the event or first session. Early registration is highly recommended as many programs fill quickly.
EVENT & GROUP INFORMATION: All AANE programming is currently online. The following terms are used for different audience specifications:
- “Open” events/groups may have different participants joining from session to session and “Closed” events/groups have the same participants for a set number of sessions.
CODES OF CONDUCT: Participants at AANE events are expected to act respectfully toward other participants and group facilitators. AANE reserves the right to deny admission to and/or ask individual participants to leave an event. For more information see FAQS.
