CHAPEL HAVEN AND ASD FITNESS HOST AUTISM AWARENESS DAY AT CONNECTICUT OPEN

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 23 2017 - 11:00 AM TO 4:00 PM

Chapel Haven and ASD Fitness Center announced today that it will sponsor the third annual Autism Awareness Day Wednesday, Aug. 23 at the Connecticut Open presented by United Technologies. “This is a fun-filled day where families can engage in adaptive tennis clinics, join us in our sensory-friendly suite to watch top-notch tennis and do some fun crafts,” Chapel Haven President Michael Storz said. “The day is a unique time for families to come together, browse booths with information of interest to our community and enjoy the Connecticut Open,” added Adam Leapley, ASD Fitness Center Autism Awareness Day will take place Wednesday, August 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Connecticut Open.

The day will include an adaptive tennis clinic in the Aetna FitZone lead by Adaptive Tennis Coach Jerry Weil, on-site booths related to autism, and a chance to interact with pro tennis players. Chapel Haven and ASD Fitness also announced that an air-conditioned, sensory-friendly executive suite has been made available by the Connecticut Open facing center court, where families can watch tennis in a comfortable environment and participate in fun crafts. Chapel Haven’s Art Director, Tina Menchetti, will help participants decorate a large mural. ASD Fitness Center also will offer youngsters the chance to decorate and take home their own tennis ball and will provide legos and other fun activities.
